About Me

My name is Julie Coan.

I’ve been writing books since I was about five years old and my mom let me type on her Smith-Corona typewriter.  (I almost hesitate to write that because some of you have never even seen a typewriter and that makes me feel ancient.)

When it comes to reading and writing, I am a voracious omnivore.  I love to read and write just about everything except horror and erotica.   I suppose my first love is science fiction, but I do love a good action adventure or romance novel.

I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Fresno and I’ve been teaching writing for more than twenty years.

I’ve been coaching authors on a one-on-one basis for the past several years.  It’s been exciting to see the progress my authors have made and I’m happy that the internet is helping me take that coaching to a whole new level.

My Goal

My goal is to provide you with the best information and products available on writing and marketing your books.  I want to do everything possible to help you build a successful writing career.  I want Writing Books is Easy to be the best website for authors on the web.  I want it to be the place where every author comes for answers and for support.

I believe that people who are writing books should make as much money as professional athletes.  I am dedicated to doing everything I can to making that a reality.  I want you to make a ton of money from your writing!

My Promise to You

I promise not to promote a single product on this website (including books) that I have not tried and found useful.  I’ve read a ton of books on writing.   I found about a half dozen to be useful.  Those are the ones on the Julie Recommends page.  Don’t waste your money or your time on the rest.
